35+ Youth Participated in the 2003 Youth Hunt

Following Videos on Pheasant Hunting and a Refresher Course on Firearm Safety ther kids got a chance to sharpen up the old shooting eye.  This group contained some real crack shots

 

Just before the hunt the cast of supporting charactors were introduced to the young hunters

"Mad Dog" demonstrates some of his techniques for teaching a Brittney Spaniel how to Point.

This 12 week old Puppy shows off by Pointing for the crowd

Soon it was off to the feild and within a few minutes we had our first point.

Seconds later the pheasant flushed to the right. You can see it wings down right at the horizon

 

Over 50 Pheasants were harvested by the Youth Hunters.  A lesson on Cleaning Birds followed and then a dozen Birds were Cooked up by Venture Crew 1832 for interested youth and mentors to enjoy for supper.
