I was born and raised in West Allis just blocks west of the State Fair Park.  My twin brother, Kurt and older brother, Roy all graduated from West Allis Central.  Kurt has been a baker, union rep. and now works with United Way.  Roy is a retired teacher.  My mother is a spry 93 and lives in her own apartment here in Monroe.

I graduated from Milwaukee County General Hospital Nursing School with a RN and started work there as a Floor Nurse and eventually ended up on the Hematology floor.  After Dave and I married I worked at the University of Wisconsin, also as a Hematology nurse.

When Matt and Ana came along we moved closer to Monroe and after a while I started working in the Home Care Department at Monroe Clinic part time, as a nurse.  I have been a traveling nurse, job-shared supervisor, Hospice Nurse, and most recently as the Parish Nursing Coordinator/QA person.  Along the way I have been a part-time Chaplain and nursing educator.  Over the years I have gone back to school and picked my BSN from Viterbo University and a Masters from Edgewood

I have always been a peace and justice advocate and have worked with numerous groups including Christmas Stocking, Food Pantry and Drives,  Girl Scouting, Lunch with Santa, St Victor's School, Woman's Club Pres, Hospital auxiliary pres, St Victor's Parish Nurse, Sisters of St Agnes, Loaves, & Fishes, SW WI Plannin Commission, and recently on the Board of Family Promise.  Over the years I have received numerous awards and recognitions

The last few years I have been active with the Madison District of Wisconsin ANA as past president and as President of the states Parish Nurses.  I have been involved in politics as a Democrat and have been County Chair and unsuccessfully ran for the Assembly in 2008

The last year or so I have been slowed down slightly with Breast Cancer.  It has been a year of way too many surgeries, troublesome chemo and radiation with complications galore but no evidence of recurrence.  I am a one year cancer survivor who is looking forward to life and being a 10 year survivor like many of closest friends
